WetterWelt supplies first class meteorological support for the shipping industry. Our customers benefit from the assistance of our highly-qualified staff with a service tailored to their individual needs. Our goal is a cost efficient and target oriented cooperation, guided by the philosophy: “safety first, while saving money.”

With our individual monitoring / forecasting / routing services, you have the option to add additional shore-based weather routing services to your METEO PILOT, or request for shore-based services individually for one or more vessels at any time. You can order the following shore-based services:

Routing on demand

can be ordered individually for any voyage or added on top to our monitoring / forecasting service. As soon as we receive the order for the weather routing service, we contact the master and support your vessel via email with all necessary information, such as weather pattern, (up to 10 days in advance), route suggestions including reasons and comments, route weather forecast. Routing updates are issued during the voyage with irregular frequency (every seventh day up to once per day), depending on the voyage status and weather pattern. To do so we ask the vessel to send us daily position reports in order to track the vessel day by day. The purpose: voyage optimization in respect to time and consumption minimization, taking into account the safety of the cargo, vessel and crew as well as ETA-keeping.
Our experience shows, that this is the most cost-efficient prize model, as routes in good weather conditions usually do not require much support which leads to few updates.

After finishing a weather routed voyage, we can provide calculations as to the gains from to our weather routing. Such a routing analysis can be requested – we reanalyze and calculate the time/bunker gains due to our weather routing. So you get direct feedback and evidence for the gains of our routing support.

Route weather forecast

an be ordered individually for any voyage or added to our monitoring service. As soon as we receive an order for route weather forecast, we contact the master and support your vessel via email with route weather forecasts (up to 10 days in advance) with individually agreed forecast frequency (every third day up to twice per day). To do so we ask the vessel to send us daily position reports in order to track the vessel day by day. The purpose: assuring a vessel keeps within safety limits along a fixed route or support of weather related ETA-calculations in order to keep the vessel on time.

Fleet safety monitoring

Fleet Safety Monitoring contains daily monitoring of the voyage plan, position and weather condition for all vessels of your fleet. Daily assessment of forecasted weather impact from our meteorologists to any vessel based on different weather forecast models. Pro-active contact to the master and office via email, as soon as significant weather impact is expected for the next 24 hours up to the next 7 days in advance. The definition of “significant weather impact” can be pre-defined individually. The purpose: increasing awareness and reducing of weather related damages.
Experience shows that this monitoring service results in significant time and costs saving at a very low price.
Additional forecast/routing services can be ordered at any time for any vessel for a specific voyage.
